Dental Veneers Seattle, WA
When one of us was little - and we’re not going to say which one - she wanted to be a rock star, complete with a bright, beautiful smile, a fabulous dancing ability, and a golden voice. While we laugh at her for dressing up like a rock star every year for Halloween, we understand why. Lots of people want to be movie stars or rock stars. They look so glamorous on the screen or stage, and we all aspire to be more beautiful or glamorous.
Did you know that movie stars and rock stars that are so beautiful and glamorous now didn’t start out that way? They didn’t. In fact, many of those celebrities we admire didn’t look so great to begin with. It was only when they started making money that they became more glamorous. One of the first things that celebrities fix about themselves when they get money is their teeth. That’s because they know their smiles are important. If you are looking in the mirror, and you aren’t happy with your teeth, you can get them fixed. Not sure what we mean? Let Queen Anne Family Dental tell you about veneers.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are porcelain shells. These shells are thin, and they can fit over your teeth. Rather than have a one-size fits all mentality, we custom make veneers to fit your mouth perfectly. You can choose to get veneers on one set of teeth, or both your upper and lower teeth. Although most veneer shells are made from porcelain, composite shells, made of a combination of glass and plastic, are also available. They are not as strong as the porcelain veneers, however, and they are not as shiny. If you choose to get porcelain or composite veneers, they are cemented onto your teeth with a special kind of dental cement.
Why Do People Get Veneers?
There are lots of reasons you might want to get veneers. You may want to get veneers to cover cracked and broken teeth. You could get individual teeth fixed, but if you have a lot of cracked and broken teeth, veneers are the better idea. Veneers are also helpful if you have spacing issues with your teeth. Rather than spend a couple of years in braces, or using Invisalign clear aligners, many adults opt for veneers instead. Veneers can also fix teeth that are too crowded, as well. Veneers also work to cover teeth that are discolored as an alternative to teeth whitening. The best thing about veneers? They can cover a lot of different problems with your teeth at one time.
What Is The Procedure For Getting Veneers?
Veneers seem like they would be complicated, but the procedure to craft veneers is very simple. First, we will take an impression of your teeth. We will also take pictures of your teeth, or we may make a model of your teeth with our 3D technology. We use all of these tools to make your veneers. We look at different kinds of veneer colors to help you decide which veneer would best suit your eye color, hair color, and skin color. When we have your veneers ready, we sand a bit of your tooth enamel off and cement the veneers to your natural teeth.
